At the March 1, 1983, meeting of Covenant Presbytery a group of believers from Pontotoc, Mississippi, petitioned Covenant Presbytery to organize them as a local church of the Presbyterian Church in America. This group of believers was organized on March 20, 1983, as the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Pontotoc, Mississippi.

The desire of the believers who were organized into the Reformed Presbyterian Church was the faithful service of Jesus Christ in the fulfillment of the Great Commission which he gave his church through the preaching of the Gospel and the teaching of the truths of Scripture.

Since that time, the church has remained faithful to her original purpose. The church met in several different places in Pontotoc until she moved to her current location at 146 Maple Drive. The name of the church was changed to Maple Drive Presbyterian Church to coincide with the location of the church building.

In 2010, a new worship sanctuary was added to the existing building to provide more and better space for worship and ministry.
